Axor Massaud Bathtub

Axor Massaud. Nature Inspired Design. French designer Jean-Marie Massaud brings us back to our origins. Inspired by nature, he created the exhilarating Axor Massaud bathroom collection. A new addition in 2009 is the bath tub, wherein Massaud's design concept is clearly visible - the harmonious connection between organic and geometrical shapes, natural aesthetics and modern design. With its extraordinary shape, the bath tub is everything one might expect in a modern bathroom. Once again, Massaud has achieved a perfect symbiosis between human being, water, object and space.

Innovative and convenient. Thanks to its light weight, the bathtub, made from polyurethane foam with fibre glass and polyester gel coating, is easy to install.
A convenient feature: the centrally operated push-open valve, pre-mounted with waste set.

Eco Showerhead

London’s Geffrye Museum – the museum of the domestic interior – has opened a special exhibition (running until February) called the Eco Home, which details how concerns about climate change and the environment are influencing homes; and the way people use, decorate and inhabit them. Mira Showers features in the show – in the section concerned with reducing water and energy consumption – as its Eco Showerhead has been selected by exhibition consultant Oliver Heath as an example of how leading product design can deliver improved water efficiency.

Showerheads with character

Esher, September 2009. Showering plays a key role in creating a sense of personal well-being. It is a small luxury for the body in everyday life, providing a very direct experience of the element water. As a general rule, it may be said that the larger the showerhead, the greater the showering pleasure – and this is particularly true of overhead showers that supply an extremely intensive experience of water. Consequently, the new Raindance E showerhead range, which Hansgrohe (ww.hansgrohe.com) has devised in collaboration with the renowned studio of Phoenix Design, not only impresses with its extraordinary styling but also by virtue of its consistently generous format.

Showering pleasure over the entire breadth
The Raindance E showerheads are constructed entirely with the shower occupant in mind. After all, the rectangular format is designed ergonomically to mirror the dimensions of the shoulders and thus guarantees soothing showering pleasure over its entire breadth. The gentle spray of rain streams directly over head and shoulders, completely covering the body. For the first time an overhead shower also offers a choice of two different jet types.

PJH Group has launched the 'ECO' bathroom.

The PJH Group has launched the 'ECO' bathroom under its Moods range, a new water-efficient bathroom that is both fashionably compact and eco-friendly. Designed with the Government’s revised Building Regulations Part G Standard in mind, the new ECO suite is the ideal choice to meet the new water-efficiency goal of 125 litres per person, per day, soon to be applicable on all new build homes (current average water use is 150 litres per person).

Eco Bathroom

WC’s use about 30% of the water used in an average household, and many older style models can use up to 13 litres per flush. The new ECO close-coupled WC reduces this dramatically featuring a dual flush with the industry’s lowest WC water usage to date – a perfect flush at either 4 litres or just 2.6 litres. With an average household flushing 5,000 times a year it’s apparent of the savings to be made with the ECO loo – both financially and environmentally.

The ECO Bath from Moods is equally as water-efficient, cleverly designed and shaped with a reduced depth, to offer luxury bathing using just 140 litres of water, compared to the standard bath which uses over 200 litres. With baths using approximately 15% of the total water usage in an average household (up to 15,000 litres of water per year), this again means significant savings and improved water-efficiency to meet the Governments revised Part G standard. Measuring in at a spacious 1700 x700mm, the ECO bath does not compromise on comfort or style and will save the home owner around 30% of water.

To complete the suite, a coordinating 550 x 390mm ECO basin and pedestal with smooth contours and elegant styling is also available.

“As well as enabling the home owner to run an extremely water-efficient home with substantially lower water bills, the new ECO bathroom will appeal to housebuilders and developers needing to conform with the new Part G regulations on all new build projects,” says Lucy Humphries, Bathroom Category Director for PJH Group.
